  • Hourly Wages – Starting at $8.00 per hour plus tips

  • Job Type – Part Time and Full Time

  • Work Schedule – Flexibility preferred, especially on weekends and holidays


Position Summary:

Burgers At is seeking a dedicated individual with a love for craft beer and cocktails to provide exceptional service behind the bar. The bartender plays a leading role in developing positive, lasting guest relationships by consistently delivering an excellent bar experience in our restaurant. As the direct link between the guest and the restaurant, it is primarily the bartender’s responsibility to ensure that each guest enjoys all aspects of their experience. Our bartenders are responsible for knowing the drinks / ingredients and restaurant menus inside and out. You will play an integral part in the financial results of the position, contribute to running side-work, and be self-motivated to go above and beyond the Burgers At standards of hospitality.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide fast, friendly customer service to all guests, following the Burgers At hospitality standards.

  • Serve food, alcohol, and other beverages in measured quantities and check with the guest to ensure you’ve met or exceeded

    their expectations.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work station that includes bar seating as well as food service and dining areas—and ensure

    these areas are clean/sanitized both before and after serving our guests.

  • Be responsible when it comes to selling and serving alcohol to our guests and be sure to comply with all local alcohol service

    regulations (including age verification).

  • Operate the POS system by entering orders accurately and efficiently, and collecting payments.

  • Take food and beverage orders from guests; accept payment and make change.

  • Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks; and other vital bar tasks.

  • Practice suggestive “up-selling” techniques that highlight the amazing offerings from our beverage menu.

  • Manage alcoholic beverages and other bar supplies as necessary, and verify the quality and accuracy of deliveries.

  • Clear tables and reset them for the next guests.

  • Clean all restaurant areas/rooms and equipment during a normal shift, as assigned; to ensure a clean, sanitized, and safe restaurant.

  • Look for opportunities to stock or clean when not serving a guest.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of basic food safety guidelines.

  • Assist management in executing restaurant opening or closing procedures.

  • Exhibit professional standards through appearance, demeanor, grooming and personal hygiene.

  • Maintain positive working relationships with management and coworkers; willingly follow directions and requests as

    appropriate.

  • Completes tasks assigned beyond the job description when necessary.


Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Food Handler Certification

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and a commitment to excellent customer service

  • Knowledge of proper sanitation practices to maintain food safety standards

  • Strong math skills for calculating bills, making change, and splitting checks accurately

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form

  • Ability to stand for 8 hours

  • Ability to lift 35-50 pounds

  • Ability to use motion that entails pushing, pulling, stretching and continuous bilateral use of fingers and wrists


Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)

  • 2 years related experience
