Steward (Busser / Dishwasher)

Job Details:

  • Hourly Wages – Starting at $12.00 per hour

  • Job Type – Part Time and Full Time

  • Work Schedule – Flexibility preferred, especially on weekends and holidays


Position Summary:

Do you enjoy prepping food and keeping things clean and organized in the kitchen? If so, the steward position could be the perfect fit for you. The steward is responsible for assisting with kitchen duties and cleaning duties that will help keep the restaurant running smoothly. Primary duties include maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen, dining room area, restrooms, and perimeter of the restaurant; as well as assisting with food preparation duties in the kitchen. Adherence to Burgers At procedures and safety and sanitation requirements is a must to maintain our commitment to making our customers’ health and safety a priority.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist cooks with food prepping duties as needed.

  • Assist in tasks to ensure that all areas of the restaurant are clean, sanitized, and safe.

  • Ensure the kitchen is clean, well-maintained, and always organized.

  • Ensure floors are always dry and clean.

  • Adhere to all sanitation guidelines.

  • Collects and removes trash from all areas of the operation following established procedures.

  • Promptly clean and reset tables after each guest’s departure.

  • Carry out general cleaning as directed, including sweeping, mopping up, washing up, emptying rubbish bins and boxes,

    ensuring placement in the correct containers.

  • Cleans and sanitizes pots, pans, utensils, and other minor equipment routinely used in the kitchen following established

    procedures.

  • Cleans and maintains floors and walls in the kitchen and dishwashing area by following standard procedures.

  • Cleans and sanitizes dishes and related service ware following established procedures.

  • Cleans large equipment as assigned, following established procedures.

  • Consistently adheres to SDS (Safety Data Sheet) information related to the proper and safe use of chemicals in the

    workplace.

  • Assist servers by offering assistance to guests by clearing away dishes and glassware, and refill beverages.

  • Maintain positive working relationships with management and coworkers; willingly follow directions and requests as

    appropriate.

  • Completes tasks assigned beyond the job description when necessary.


Qualifications:

  • Food Handler Certification

  • Must have a positive attitude and commitment to excellent customer service

  • Must be an enthusiastic team player and willing to take direction

  • Knowledge of proper sanitation practices to maintain food safety standards

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form

  • Ability to stand for 8 hours

  • Ability to lift 35-50 pounds

  • Ability to use motion that entails pushing, pulling, stretching and continuous bilateral use of fingers and wrists
